Lab Manager

Temporary (Fixed Term) position in Forensic Science (JMT) at Loyola University Maryland. Remote and hybrid positions are open to applicants based in states identified here: Work at Loyola | Loyola University Maryland. Full-time employment with benefits available.

Anticipated Start Date: Friday, August 14, 2026

Estimated End Date: 12/31/2026

Position Duties:

  • Procurement, preparation and maintenance of materials and equipment to support laboratory instruction.
  • Work with faculty to arrange for preparation of reagents and gathering and arranging of equipment for all lab courses.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of prep-lab, instructional labs, and storage areas in collaboration with faculty members and work-study students.
  • Coordinate efforts of work-study students to assist with preparation of labs and clean-up of teaching and preparatory lab spaces.
  • Develop and maintain a chemical inventory.
  • Coordinate the storage and disposal of biological and chemical waste with EHS.
  • Duties vary throughout these roles.
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

Physical/Environmental Demands:

Instructional and research laboratory prep requires some exposure to dry chemicals and solvents commonly used in forensic science. Packages delivered to the department may require lifting 10-50 pounds and some have no physical.

Education Required: BS in Forensic Science, Biology, Chemistry or related discipline

Required Certifications/Licensures: None

Work Experience: Less than 12 months

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Should have experience preparing solutions, using microscopes and balances in a general laboratory setting.

Compensation: Final compensation offers are determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, job-related experience, internal equity, and alignment with organizational budget.
